Our Story
Hello!
My name is Kandice and I am the creator of A Coastal Drift. I have always had a love for the ocean, the beach, and anything to do with coastal living. Within the last few years I would walk into stores near the beaches of Long Island and I kept coming across driftwood art and decor. They appealed to me very much, but they all seemed so commercialized and "machine made". So, I decided I was going to make my own.
All of my pieces are not cut, sanded, or stained in any way to fit the shape that was planned. Sand and debris are cleaned by an air compressor and nothing is chemically bleached. Some may say they are, in a way, organic in nature.
My first piece was a sea horse. I posted it on my personal Facebook page and received a ton of likes. A friend of mine immediately messaged me and asked if I could make her something. Little did I know that this "something" was going to be the start of a fun hobby business.
Since my first sea horse I have made over 25 custom orders. They include: sea horses, anchors, light houses, cake toppers, mermaids, sea turtles, striped bass, standing cross and rose statues, a lotus flower, a one of a kind elephant family and anything else a nautical/ coastal mind can come up with. If you would like to see these creations please visit our Facebook page!
I Love this little hobby job that I have fallen into! I truly feel like these are unique items for anyone's home!
Thank you for stopping by!
Yours truly,
Kandice
